A- 哦,我老家是大连的。 Oh, my hometown is Dalian.

B- 哦?是吗?大连在哪? Really? Where is Dalian?

A- 大连在辽宁省,在中国的北部。那儿很美。 Dalian is in Liaoning province. It’s in the northern part of China. It’s beautiful there.

B- 我只去过北京。大连大概离北京有多远? I’ve only been to Beijing. How far is it from Dalian to Beijing approximately?

A- 嗯……不太远,坐飞机的话大概一个半小时吧。 Er…, not too far. It’s about one and half hours by plane.
